Who We Are
The Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization acting as the civilian
Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and organized along military lines. There are
more than 1,700 units; half of which have both senior members and cadets
attached.
Our Mission
- AEROSPACE EDUCATION Civil Air Patrol promotes and supports
aerospace education, both for its own members and the general public.
- CADET PROGRAMS Civil Air Patrol builds strong citizens for the
future by providing leadership training, technical education, scholarships
and career education to young men and women, ages 12 to 21.
- OPERATIONS While CAP has long been associated with search and
rescue missions, its work also includes disaster relief and communications,
as well as counter-drug and homeland security missions.
